Andrew is a Human
Resource Consultant specialising in Reward and Performance: Job
Evaluation, Grading, Salary and Benefits Structures - relating to
market, Performance Management and Performance-Related Pay.
Andrew spent 17
years employed in Personnel Management in 3 large private sector
companies - all multi-site employers with a number of small/medium
subsidiary companies, undergoing significant change/development:
Andrew is now an
independent consultant and has worked on many assignments with
organisations assisting them to change/develop their cultures
through the introduction of revised terms and conditions of
employment, with particular emphasis on Compensation and Benefits -
from Job Evaluation, Grading, Salary and Benefits Structure design,
through to Objective-Setting, Appraisal and Performance-Related Pay.
In particular, his
experience includes the development, computerisation and
implementation of a range of Job Evaluation Schemes and design and
implementation of a number of Pay, Performance Management and
Performance-Related Reward Schemes.
Andrew has also
worked closely with Remuneration Committees - guiding clients on
their establishment, assisting them to determine Reward Strategies
and advising on Senior Pay.
Andrew has
undertaken specialised training in the field of Equal Opportunities
and is a founder member of the Equal Value Advisers Network
(comprising specialist Equal Opportunities Consultants, staff of the
Equal Opportunities Commission, Barristers, Industrial Tribunal
Chairs, ACAS experts, Union Full-Time Officials, etc.) so enabling
him to ensure that all Terms, Conditions and Procedures meet
statutory and best practice requirements.
Whilst most of
his work as a Consultant has started with a reward project for
clients, he has on many occasions been asked to extend his
involvement into wider areas of HR - including advising on and
drafting terms and conditions of employment, handbooks, policies and
procedures and training and supporting staff in their
implementation. Andrew has also assisted with the establisment and
restructuring of HR functions.
Andrew has worked
for employing organisations in the private sector, public sector and
the not-for-profit sector; in small, medium and large organisations
- in all areas of the UK (some with overseas parent companies) and
occasionally abroad; in organisations with no in-house HR
professional and some with their own team of HR Specialists; with
heavily unionised and non-unionised workforces; long-established
organisations and with newstart organisations.
