Andrew is a Human Resource Consultant specialising in Reward and Performance: Job Evaluation, Grading, Salary and Benefits Structures - relating to market, Performance Management and Performance-Related Pay.

Andrew spent 17 years employed in Personnel Management in 3 large private sector companies - all multi-site employers with a number of small/medium subsidiary companies, undergoing significant change/development:

Andrew is now an independent consultant and has worked on many assignments with organisations assisting them to change/develop their cultures through the introduction of revised terms and conditions of employment, with particular emphasis on Compensation and Benefits - from Job Evaluation, Grading, Salary and Benefits Structure design, through to Objective-Setting, Appraisal and Performance-Related Pay.

In particular, his experience includes the development, computerisation and implementation of a range of Job Evaluation Schemes and design and implementation of a number of Pay, Performance Management and Performance-Related Reward Schemes.

Andrew has also worked closely with Remuneration Committees - guiding clients on their establishment, assisting them to determine Reward Strategies and advising on Senior Pay.

Andrew has undertaken specialised training in the field of Equal Opportunities and is a founder member of the Equal Value Advisers Network (comprising specialist Equal Opportunities Consultants, staff of the Equal Opportunities Commission, Barristers, Industrial Tribunal Chairs, ACAS experts, Union Full-Time Officials, etc.) so enabling him to ensure that all Terms, Conditions and Procedures meet statutory and best practice requirements.

Whilst most of his work as a Consultant has started with a reward project for clients, he has on many occasions been asked to extend his involvement into wider areas of HR - including advising on and drafting terms and conditions of employment, handbooks, policies and procedures and training and supporting staff in their implementation. Andrew has also assisted with the establisment and restructuring of HR functions.

Andrew has worked for employing organisations in the private sector, public sector and the not-for-profit sector; in small, medium and large organisations - in all areas of the UK (some with overseas parent companies) and occasionally abroad; in organisations with no in-house HR professional and some with their own team of HR Specialists; with heavily unionised and non-unionised workforces; long-established organisations and with newstart organisations.
